Beefmaster Group, Kimberley’s largest private employer, recently hosted its annual Long Service Awards, celebrating the dedication and loyalty of employees marking 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of service.
Held in January 2026, the awards recognised individuals whose commitment and hard work have played a defining role in shaping Beefmaster Group into the business it is today. The event was both a celebration of personal milestones and a powerful reflection of the company’s people‑first culture, where long‑term growth and opportunity are fundamental to the employee experience.
“It is incredibly inspiring to see how our people have grown over the years, both professionally and personally,” says Cindy Nkgoeng, HR Manager at Beefmaster Group. “These long‑service awards are a reminder that when we invest in our employees, they invest their futures with us. Their resilience, consistency and dedication are what make Beefmaster Group strong.”
Nkgoeng says that behind every smile on the day was a story of perseverance, learning and progression.
“Many of the long‑serving employees being honoured joined Beefmaster Group in junior or entry‑level roles and have since built meaningful and rewarding careers within the organisation. Their journeys highlight a workplace that values loyalty, invests in development and creates clear pathways for advancement,” she says.
A particularly meaningful moment during the celebration was the recognition of CEO Mr Gert Blignaut, who marked 25 years of service alongside long‑standing colleagues Andre Bergh, General Manager: Farms, and Tshwaro Ntaolang, Operations Manager, who both received their 20‑year service awards.
“Their leadership journeys stand as living examples of the opportunities that exist within the organisation for those who are committed to growing with the business,” says Nkgoeng.
She says that employees stay because they are seen, supported and empowered to build long‑term careers. Through continuous skills development, internal mobility and a culture that celebrates contribution, the company creates an environment where people can thrive.
“Our employees are our greatest champions,” Nkgoeng adds. “We are deeply proud of their achievements and grateful for the role they continue to play in our success. Celebrating milestones like these is not only about looking back – it is about honouring the future we are building together.”
