KWAZULU-NATAL. – Police in KwaZulu-Natal are appealing to the public for help to trace a person of interest in the investigation into the murder of three women at a Boxer store in Eshowe.

The three female managers were shot dead at the store on Saturday, 10 October. According to police, the incident occurred when a former employee visited the store for an internal disciplinary hearing.

On 16 October, police appealed to the public for information about the possible whereabouts of the person of interest, Nzuzo Mthombeni.

Col. Robert Netshiunda, police spokesperson in KwaZulu-Natal, said Mthombeni could assist the investigation. Police did not state in this appeal that he has already been charged or found guilty.

Nomakhosazana Meth, Minister of Employment and Labour, condemned the shooting and called on law enforcement authorities to ensure justice for the victims and their families.

In a statement, Meth expressed her condolences to the families, loved ones and colleagues of the three women. She emphasised that employees must feel safe when doing their work.

The minister also requested the public not to distribute graphic footage of the shooting on social media, out of respect for the families grieving the loss of their loved ones.

Anyone with information about Mthombeni's possible whereabouts can contact Col. Ngcobo on 082 334 8123 or AO Sibiya on 079 500 0031.

The investigation into the murders is continuing.
