The TRACN4 Elands Marathon is back! This scenic race, hosted by the Nedbank LVCC Running Club and sponsored by Trans African Concessions (TRAC), is a top Comrades and Two Oceans Marathon qualifier. Mark your calendar for 1 March 2025 and get ready for an unforgettable experience in the Elands Valley.
A stunning race route
The 42.2km marathon starts at Laerskool Oosterlijn in Emgwenya (Waterval Boven). Runners will cross the majestic escarpment, pass through the historic Waterval Boven Tunnel, and finish at the Sappi Skills Training Centre in Ngodwana. This breathtaking course challenges athletes while showcasing Mpumalanga’s natural beauty.
The event also features a 21.1km half marathon and a 10km race, making it ideal for both seasoned runners and newcomers. With an increasing number of participants each year, the 2025 edition promises to be bigger than ever.
TRACN4 Elands Marathon Expo
The TRACN4 Elands Marathon Expo, sponsored by Astron Energy Mpumalanga North Marketer, will take place on 28 February 2025 at Astron Energy Millys on the N4 Route. From 11 AM to 8 PM, runners can collect their race numbers and explore top athletic brands. Race numbers will also be available at LVCC in Mbombela.
Mandla Nxumalo, from the Nedbank LVCC Running Club, shares his excitement:
“We are thrilled to once again host this exceptional race with TRAC’s support. Preparations are already underway to ensure the 2025 event exceeds all expectations.”
He also advises participants to book accommodation early, as spots are filling fast. Online registrations are open until 16 February 2025. No late entries will be accepted. This year, participants can make substitutions, upgrades and downgrades throughout the registration process.
