Spring cleaning can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. With a few clever hacks, you can make the process easier and even enjoyable. Here are some spring cleaning hacks you probably haven’t tried yet.

1. Use coffee filters for dusting

Coffee filters are perfect for dusting. They’re lint-free, soft and won’t scratch surfaces. Use them to wipe down screens, mirrors and glass surfaces for a streak-free shine.

2. Lemon and salt for cutting boards

Freshen up your wooden cutting boards with a lemon and salt scrub. Cut a lemon in half, sprinkle salt on the board and scrub with the lemon. Rinse with warm water and your cutting board will be clean and deodorised.

3. Tongs and microfiber cloths for blinds

Cleaning blinds can be tedious. Wrap microfiber cloths around the ends of tongs, secure them with rubber bands and you have a handy tool for cleaning both sides of the blinds simultaneously.

4. Baking soda and vinegar for stubborn stains

Tackle stubborn stains on your kitchen counters or bathroom tiles with a baking soda and vinegar paste. Apply the paste to the stain, let it sit for a few minutes, then scrub away the grime.

5. Essential oils for vacuum freshness

Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil to a cotton ball and place it inside your vacuum cleaner bag. As you vacuum, the scent will spread throughout your home, leaving it smelling fresh.

6. Rubber gloves for pet hair

If pet hair is a problem, dampen a rubber glove and run your hand over furniture. The hair will stick to the glove, making it easy to remove.

With these spring cleaning hacks, you’ll breeze through your chores and have your home sparkling in no time. Try them out and see the difference they make!
