WES-KAAP. – ‘n Sakevrou (59) is Donderdagmiddag omstreeks 15:40 buite die Whale Coast Mall in Hermanus op die parkeerterrein doodgeskiet. Provinsiale speurders van die eenheid vir ernstige en gewelddadige misdaad ondersoek die moord.
Lt.kol. Malcolm Pojie, polisiewoordvoerder, sê in ‘n verklaring volgens voorlopige inligting is die vrou op pad na haar voertuig deur die gewapende mans in ‘n hinderlaag gelok en doodgeskiet. Sy is op die toneel dood verklaar nadat sy veelvuldige skietwonde aan die bolyf opgedoen het. Die motief vir die moord blyk met taxibedrywigheid verband te hou.
Die aanvallers het van die toneel gevlug en is nog nie in hegtenis geneem nie.

Incident at Whale Coast Mall – Ongoing Investigation
Whale Coast Mall Centre management confirms that an unfortunate incident involving armed suspects occurred on our premises earlier today. We understand the concern this has caused within our community and would like to assure the public that the matter is being thoroughly investigated by the South African Police Service (SAPS).
We are fully cooperating with SAPS as they work to identify and apprehend those responsible. The safety and security of our shoppers, tenants, and staff remains our highest priority, and we are taking all necessary steps to assist the authorities in their investigation.
We urge the public to remain calm and avoid speculation as the investigation is ongoing. Additional security measures have been put in place to ensure continued safety at the centre.
