Gump Suzuki, a 34-year-old Japanese adventurer, is on the brink of completing a phenomenal 6,400 km journey across Africa, all while pulling a traditional Japanese rickshaw. Starting from Kenya on June 1, 2024, Suzuki has traversed Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa, spreading a message of resilience and cultural exchange. His extraordinary feat will culminate on January 26, 2025.

Will you join us for this momentous occasion? The day will kick off at 11:00 AM with a community run from Green Point Park to the lighthouse. Together, we’ll celebrate the final stretch of Suzuki’s journey. The festivities continue at 12:00 PM with a goal celebration at the V&A Waterfront area.

Suzuki’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. In Zambia, a collision with a truck damaged his rickshaw, but his indomitable spirit saw him repair it at a local shop, embodying true grit and determination.
