ATLANTA. – Bafana Bafana return to action at the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Czechia on Thursday 18 June at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Kickoff is at 18:00 South African time. South Africa lost their opening Group A match 2-0 to co-hosts Mexico on 11 June.
What is at stake
The defeat leaves South Africa at the bottom of Group A. A win over Czechia, who lost 2-1 to South Korea in their opener, would lift Hugo Broos’ side back into contention for a place in the knockout round. It is South Africa’s first World Cup appearance since hosting the tournament in 2010.
Final group match
Bafana Bafana close their group campaign against South Korea on 24 June in Monterrey, with kickoff at 03:00 South African time on 25 June.
