Police confirmed a multidisciplinary SAPS team executed a J50 warrant of arrest against Mogotsi on Friday. He was charged with defeating the ends of justice in connection with an alleged staged shooting incident in Vosloorus in November 2025. Officers had previously raided his business premises in Seweding village in Mahikeng as part of the broader investigation.

Mogotsi appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on 18 May 2026. The case is expected to proceed while the Madlanga Commission, which is investigating allegations of large-scale SAPS corruption, continues its work.
