This Christmas, thousands of children in the Western Cape will spend the festive season without the joy of a gift. But you can help change that. The Cape Town Toy Run 2024, is happening on Sunday, 24th November. Running for 42 years consecutively without a break the motorcycling community and the public at large have been riding and supporting to donate toys, gifts and funds to vulnerable children in our communities. The event will conclude at Killarney International Raceway. The donated toys will be distributed to children in orphanages, hospitals and places of safety.
How you can help
Alderman JP Smith and supported by Smile 90.4FM are trying to bring hope for the annual Toy Run. The Toy Run is a heartwarming initiative to collect and deliver toys to those who need them the most. If you can’t make it on the day, you can still make a difference. Simply ask your child to choose some toys they no longer need. Box it, take it to any fire station across the city on or before Saturday, the 23rd of November.
Support from the community
The event has received incredible support from local businesses and communities. The include Boland Snake Removals 24/7 and Pest Control, who are backing the Toy Run this year. The children and teachers at Pikkieland and Kabouterplaas Kleuterskool in Wellington are gathering teddy bears and toys to contribute.. The Frosty Whale in Sandbaai launched “Swap a fluffy toy for a beer” in support of the cause.
The Toy Run isn’t just about giving toys—it’s about giving hope and showing that together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most this Christmas.
