Donald Trump has been elected as the new president after securing over 270 electoral votes and winning in four of the seven swing states. In his address to his supporters, Trump stated: “We’re going to help our country heal. We’re going to secure the borders and fix everything about our country, and we made history tonight for a reason.” He added, “This is a magnificent victory for the American people that will allow us to ‘make America great again.'”
Ms. Harris’ aides earlier indicated she would not speak until later on Wednesday, as her path to victory narrowed and defeat seemed inevitable.
