- Challenge 1: Finfoot Lake Reserve
Dates: 7–9 March 2025
Availability: 24 team slots (teams of 2)
Begin your birding journey at the serene Finfoot Lake Reserve, located by Vaalkop Dam. With over 312 recorded bird species, this lush location promises a vibrant start to the challenge. - Challenge 2: Little Switzerland Resort
Dates: 20–22 June 2025
Availability: 24 team slots (teams of 2)
Continue your adventure at the scenic Little Switzerland Resort, nestled in the heart of the Northern Drakensberg. This area offers spectacular views and sightings of up to 247 bird species. - Challenge 3: Nibela Lake Lodge
Dates: 7–9 November 2025
The final 10 teams will compete for the grand prize at Nibela Lake Lodge, perched on the banks of Lake St. Lucia. This region boasts 218 bird species, many unique to the area, providing a thrilling finale.
