KWAMHLANGA. – King Makhosoke II of the amaNdebele will be laid to rest on Sunday 14 June at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga. The monarch died on 9 June at the age of 65 after leading the amaNdebele akwaManala for 40 years.
A Special Official Funeral
President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared a Special Official Funeral Category 1 with military honours for the late King. The South African National Defence Force will provide ceremonial elements at the service.
National flag at half mast
As a mark of respect, the President directed that the national flag fly at half mast from Saturday 13 June until the evening of Sunday 14 June. Ramaphosa extended condolences to the Royal Household, Queen Sekhothali and the amaNdebele nation.
