According to police spokesperson Sergeant Maphure Manameladie, Tavangar was last seen by his life partner on 27 August at approximately 18:00, when he dropped her off at her rented room in Voortrekker Street, Mokopane. He was reportedly driving a white Landwind with registration number KV3VM GP and was wearing grey denim trousers, black sandals and a brown shirt. According to police, Tavangar's life partner received a payment from him into her bank account in the early morning hours of 28 August at approximately midnight. She contacted him at approximately 06:00 about her purse, which she had apparently left in his vehicle.
