The SASSA Child Support Grant 2026 is the most widely received grant in the country, supporting more than 13 million children.
Amount and June payment date
After the April increase, the grant pays R580 a month per child. Child support and other children’s grants will be paid from Thursday, 4 June 2026, the third day of the staggered June cycle.
Extra support for orphaned children
Caregivers looking after orphaned or kinship children may receive an additional R280 top-up on top of the standard amount. The grant is paid into the same account or card each month, and funds remain available until withdrawn. See the full June payment dates, with official amounts confirmed by SASSA.
