SASSA Foster Child Grant June 2026: R1 290 confirmed
The SASSA Foster Child Grant June 2026 payment date is confirmed for Thursday, 4 June 2026, the same day as all other children’s grants.
Payment amount
The Foster Child Grant pays R1 290 per child per month following the April 2026 increase of R40. According to the 2026 Budget Review, a further increase of R10 to R1 300 takes effect from October 2026.
Who qualifies
The grant is paid to a foster parent who has been formally appointed by a children’s court. A valid court order is required. For the full eligibility rules, including documentation needed, visit www.sassa.gov.za.
Payment paused or missing
A lapsed court order is the most common reason a Foster Child Grant is paused. SASSA holds payment until a renewed order is on file. If your grant has not been paid by the next business day after 4 June, contact the court that issued the order and call SASSA on 0800 60 10 11 for assistance.
