The SRD payment dates work differently from every other SASSA grant. The SRD R370 grant, which many people still search for as the R350 grant, is not paid in the first week of the month. It is paid later, on an individual date that varies from one beneficiary to the next. This guide explains when the SRD is paid and how to find your own payment date.

When are the SRD payment dates each month

SASSA pays the SRD R370 grant in batches towards the end of each month, usually from around the 24th onwards. There is no single fixed date for everyone. Payments run in stages until the end of the month, so two approved applicants can be paid on different days.

Why your SRD payment date is different

The permanent grants, such as the Older Persons, Disability and Child Support grants, are paid early in the month over three fixed days. The SRD grant is processed separately, after each month’s income verification is complete. That is why it lands later and why the date is personal to each applicant rather than fixed for the whole group.

How to check your SRD payment date

You can confirm your own SRD payment date once your status shows approved for the month. Check your status at srd.sassa.gov.za using your ID number and the cellphone number used on your application. You can also use the SASSA WhatsApp line on 082 046 8553 or the Moya app for data-free checks. SASSA sends an SMS with the pay date to approved applicants.

What to do if your SRD payment is late

If your status shows approved but the money has not arrived, allow two to three working days after your date, then confirm your banking details are correct on the portal. If it is still outstanding, call the SASSA helpline on 0800 60 10 11 or visit your nearest office.
