The Sassa call centre on 0800 60 10 11 operates Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00. Have your ID number and registered cellphone number ready before the agent answers.
SRD R370 May 2026 payment dates
Sassa confirmed that SRD R370 payments for May 2026 run from Saturday 24 May to Saturday 30 May. Because payments only clear on business days, most approved beneficiaries will see funds between Monday 25 May and Friday 29 May. Payment dates are assigned individually rather than on a single fixed date for every approval.
What pending, approved and declined mean
Pending means Sassa is still verifying your eligibility against income, employment and identity databases. Approved means the grant for the cycle has been authorised and a payment date will be allocated. Declined means at least one verification check failed. The status page lists the specific reason such as Identity verification failed, Means income source identified or Alternative income source identified.
How to appeal a declined SRD R370
Sassa gives every declined applicant 90 days from the decline date to request a reconsideration through the status page. If the reconsideration is also declined, the next step is a formal appeal to the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals. Both stages are free and no legal representation is required. Go to srd.sassa.gov.za/appeal, enter your ID and registered cellphone number, then submit fresh supporting evidence such as bank statements or a sworn affidavit.

Why has my SRD R370 not paid yet?
Payment dates are issued per applicant, not in a single batch. If your status reads Approved but no date appears, allow the full 24 to 30 May window to elapse before raising a query. If your status reads Pending past 30 May, contact the call centre or use the Reapplication page for the next cycle.
What is the new Sassa SRD amount?
The SRD grant was raised from R350 to R370 in April 2024 and remains at R370 for the 2026 financial year. The grant is still widely searched as SRD R350 even though the official figure is R370.
Can I reapply after my SRD R370 was declined?
Yes. A decline applies only to the cycle it was issued in. You must reapply every cycle through srd.sassa.gov.za to remain eligible for the next payment window, even while a reconsideration or appeal is pending on an earlier decline.
