WESTERN CAPE. – A 43-year-old truck driver was arrested on Monday after a cannabis shipment worth approximately 1.7 million rand was intercepted on the N1 near Laingsburg.
Sgt. Christopher Spies reported that the truck was heading toward Cape Town when it was stopped and searched at a vehicle control point (VCP) around 11:30 p.m. Six bags of cannabis were found and seized by police. The driver was arrested for drug trafficking.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in court today (Wednesday).
