Mallya is the former owner of Kingfisher Airlines and the Force India Formula One team, and he commissioned the rooftop residence during the height of his global business empire. Kingfisher Towers itself was developed by his UB Group on the site of the family’s former Bengaluru estate, with the penthouse occupying the upper floors of the building. The home has become one of India’s most photographed private residences because of its unusual placement on top of a high-rise tower.
