KWAZULU-NATAL. – Two women who allegedly drugged and robbed a 75-year-old man in Rietrivier on Friday were arrested by response officers.
Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) reported that the man welcomed the women into his home, where they offered to make him tea. He later woke up to find his home ransacked, with cash, cellphones, clothes, shoes, and valuable items missing.
Rusa officers followed leads and arrested one suspect, aged 39, at her home in Chatsworth. During questioning, she admitted to leaving the house with three bags of stolen goods with her friend.
Officers then located the second suspect, aged 47, at a preschool in Phoenix. She claimed she gave the stolen items to her son’s friend and added that she had befriended the pensioner on Facebook.
Both suspects were handed over to the police for further investigation.
