World Cup 2026 at a glance
This is the first World Cup with 48 teams. The sides are split into 12 groups of four, labelled A to L. The tournament runs to the final on 19 July 2026. South Africa are back at the World Cup for the first time since 2010 and play in Group A.

Bafana Bafana at the World Cup
Bafana Bafana are the priority for South African fans. Hugo Broos’ side opened against hosts Mexico, face Czechia next then close the group against South Korea. Fixtures, kickoff times and the qualification picture are in the Bafana hub.

Tournament format and the Round of 32
