We are currently living in a world where electric and Internal combustion engines are at a tug-of-war. Is electricity better and more efficient? Is internal combustion better and more efficient?
Well lets rather start with why not the best of both worlds? Why not give the competition a rest and get something that has both an ICE and Electric?
During the Drive and test of the New Range Rover Dynamic Ingenium 3.0 Liter 6 – Cylinder Petrol PHEV. The Range Anxiety (Battery) completely faded away. Because in the back of your mind, you still have a Petrol Engine driving you along.
During the Test, we first stopped at Weltevreden 1692 Historic Estate in the Heart of Stellenbosch Winelands. The reason behind this is to showcase the History of ICE and how things have grown, What better place to start than a Historic Estate that carries Years of memories and heritage? Similar to how The Range Rover Sport has evolved over the years.
The second trip was longer towards Langebaan to test the range and full capability of the new improved Range Rover.
We managed to get decent figures of around 9l/100KM that are combined with long-distance and town traveling. The Battery range is around 90 to 100 km on full charge depending on how you drive, and the the normal ICE range was around 600km for this trip.
Totaling around 700km on a full tank and charge is quite impressive.
The Drive quality of the Range Rover Sport is next to extreme luxury, Adaptive cruise control is sublime, Ride comfort is pillow soft and all the creature comforts are astonishing.
