SASSA SRD R370 reconsideration: how to apply
A SASSA SRD R370 reconsideration lets you ask SASSA to review a declined monthly application. It is a separate step from a formal appeal to the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA), and SASSA recommends trying reconsideration first.
How to submit a reconsideration
- Visit the SRD portal at srd.sassa.gov.za.
- Choose the reconsideration option.
- Enter your South African ID number and the cellphone number you used to apply.
- Verify your identity using the OTP sent to your phone.
- Select the declined month or months. You must submit a separate reconsideration for each declined month.
- Submit the request and save the reference number.
What to do while you wait
Keep reapplying each month so that your eligibility for the current cycle continues to be assessed. A pending reconsideration does not pause your monthly applications.
