GAUTENG. – Two foreign nationals have been detained after three armed suspects allegedly robbed a resident on a smallholding at Spitskop, Bronkhorstspruit in a house on 17 September shortly before 23:00.
Capt. Johan van Dyk, police spokesperson, told Nuusflits the suspects threatened the victim with a firearm and made off with, among other things, a television, battery and cash. The victim notified the owner, after which other community members responded and apprehended two suspects. The two appeared in court on Monday and the case was postponed to 28 September. The owner returned to the area on Saturday to search for his lost spectacles and found a pistol and flashlight there which allegedly belong to the suspects.
Fingerprints were taken from the two suspects and police are investigating whether they may be linked to other cases.
