Where to withdraw your SASSA grant in 2026
Knowing where to withdraw your SASSA grant in 2026 matters because some collection points are free while others charge fees. SASSA grants are paid into Postbank or other bank accounts, and the card you hold determines where you can withdraw without fees.
Where you can collect
SASSA grants paid via a Postbank Black Card can be accessed at:
- Postbank service points located inside major South African retailers nationwide
- Postbank ATMs
- Standard bank ATMs (fees may apply)
- Participating retailer cashier points
If your grant is paid into a bank account other than Postbank, you can withdraw it through any of that bank’s normal channels.
What you need
Your active SASSA card and PIN. From 31 August 2026, only the Postbank Black Card will work. Bring your South African ID in case the cashier asks to verify it.
Tips to avoid problems
- Avoid the first three working days of the month if you can — pay points are busiest right after grant payments.
- Withdraw smaller amounts more often rather than carrying large cash sums.
- Check your receipt for the fee charged. If you were charged unexpectedly, report it to Postbank.
- Never share your PIN with cashiers, security guards or anyone offering to help.
