The Tshwane Metro Police Department impounded 18 public transport vehicles in Pretoria West on 19 May 2026 as part of a wider enforcement operation across the city.
The TMPD Public Transport Unit conducted operations in areas including the R80 and Bremer Street, impounding 17 minibuses and one e-hailing vehicle for operating without valid operating licences.
Business inspections in Pretoria West
On the same day, officers inspected four business premises in Pretoria West and issued Section 56 notices for contraventions of the Business Act. Two fire notices were issued for breaches of fire safety regulations, and one notice was issued in terms of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act.
The TMPD said it remains determined to ensure that all legal protocols are obeyed and will not tolerate unlawful behaviour that compromises the lives of Tshwane residents.
