Two separate ceremonies took place in Kimberley, celebrating staff from its meat processing facility based there, as well as its Feedlot, based in Christiana. The second ceremony took place in Kempton Park, Gauteng, for Beefmaster Retail staff.

“These ceremonies are more than just recognition events – they’re a celebration of the incredible individuals who have contributed to making Beefmaster Group what it is today,” says Cindy Nkgoeng, HR Manager at Beefmaster Group. “The loyalty demonstrated by our long-serving employees is truly remarkable and deeply valued by the company.”

Exceptional tenure with the company

The Kimberley ceremony recognised 54 employees across various service milestones, with 35 employees receiving awards for 10 years of service, 10 employees for 15 years, four employees each for both 20 and 25 years of service. A particular highlight was the recognition of Mr. Abram Liau Sello for his exceptional 35-year tenure with the company.

Significant achievement

At the Gauteng ceremony, six employees from Beefmaster Retail were honoured for achieving an incredible 15-year service milestone.

“Having employees who have dedicated 35 years of their lives to Beefmaster is a significant achievement that fills us with pride,” Nkgoeng reflects. “These individuals are more than just employees – they are our most valued assets and the true superpower behind our company’s success.”

She says that one of the most rewarding parts of the long service awards is recognising that many of these individuals commenced their journey with entry-level positions at the company, steadily advancing through the ranks to assume management roles over the years.

Internal growth

“This internal growth trajectory exemplifies Beefmaster’s commitment to nurturing talent from within, providing comprehensive training programs, mentorship opportunities, and clear advancement pathways that enable employees to build fulfilling careers,” says Nkgoeng.

She adds that the company’s promote-from-within philosophy not only rewards dedication and competence but also helps maintain institutional knowledge while inspiring newer employees to envision their own long-term future with the organisation.

“As a significant employer in Central South Africa, the long-term economic impact of employment extends far beyond individual careers, creating a ripple effect throughout our local communities by providing stable income, skills development, and career advancement opportunities that help sustain families and stimulate regional economic growth,” concludes Nkgoeng.
