End of a Kloof Street chapter
ëlgr opened at 75 Kloof Street in December 2020 and built a reputation for minimalist urban dining in a plant-filled courtyard. The restaurant was awarded one star at the recent Eat Out Awards, cementing its place on Cape Town’s top tables.
A new project in the works
In its closure announcement, the team confirmed that “while this part of our story is coming to a close, something new is already taking shape behind the scenes,” signalling a next chapter for Nilsson and his team. No new location or concept has been disclosed.
Bookings for the final weeks remain open through the restaurant’s website.
