Midwives, medical sales representatives, sponsors and guest speakers arrived early, setting the tone for a focused and engaging day. The seminar equips midwives with essential knowledge of healthcare law, risk management and informed consent practices. Throughout the morning, practical case studies spark meaningful discussion, allowing attendees to engage directly with both speakers and peers.

Guest speakers Annemie Greeff (Medical Attorney Consultant), Justin Malherbe (Associate Director at Webber Wentzel) and Kath Megaw (Private Paediatric Dietitian for Nutricia South Africa) deliver valuable, real-world insights. As a result, midwives leave better equipped with the critical tools needed to strengthen and safeguard their professional practice.
Meanwhile, sponsors enhance the experience by providing a delicious meal and generously packed goodie bags, courtesy of Spectacle World, Regal Rose and Spa, Business Unlimited and Nutricia South Africa.

Feedback remains overwhelmingly positive. A private practice midwife describes the seminar as “interesting and very interactive.” Another attendee echoes the sentiment, adding, “We need this kind of seminar ongoing. Please bring it in-house.”

Looking ahead, founder Sydney Grové says he aims to take the seminar across the country, expanding its reach to empower more midwives with essential medico-legal knowledge and practical risk management tools. Finally, Grové announces that a special surprise will conclude the seminar, a fitting end to a day dedicated to professional growth and collaboration.
