WES-KAAP. – Jody (9) se hangende liggaam is Sondag by ‘n perseel in The Hague-laan in Delft gevind. Die Delft-polisie het ‘n geregtelike doodsondersoek geopen.
Volgens kapt. Frederick van Wyk word alle relevante besonderhede nagegaan as deel van die ondersoek. Die organisasie Fight Against Crime SA (Facsa) het bevestig dat nooddienste hulle na die toneel gehaas het, waar Jody homself glo gehang het. Hy is op die toneel dood verklaar.
Mushfeeqah Akram het Maandag op Facebook gesê daar moet oor “die stille stryd” gepraat word wat die jong kind se lewe geëis het:

No one truly knows what pushed him to that point, but the whispers are heavy. Some say he was bullied. Others say he was quiet, withdrawn, maybe struggling with things no one ever asked him about. Maybe it was neglect. Maybe it was loneliness. Maybe it was a cry for help that no one heard in time. Whatever the reason, a little boy carried pain too big for his small shoulders. And that should haunt every one of us. Jody’s death is not just a tragedy, it’s a mirror. It reflects how often we overlook the silent ones, how quick we are to dismiss a child’s sadness as just a phase. We scroll, we move on, we forget… until it’s too late. We need to pay attention to our kids To our neighbours’ kids. To every quiet child who hides behind a forced smile. Rest in peace Jody the world failed you and we have to make sure it never fails another child again.”
