Jo-Ann Diamond (37) from Springs, also known as Jodi, is a book and reading lover and book enthusiast who inspires people not just to read but also to learn. This Springs book lover shares her passion for books on Instagram and Facebook with South Africa and the world.
The brown-eyed brunette bookstagrammer began sharing her views on books on social media in June 2021 and now has more than 3 700 followers on Instagram and 1 600 followers on Facebook. She has already received books from many of South Africa's leading publishers to read and review.
Springs book lover is also an illustrator
Her commitment to books does not stop at reading. Jo-Ann is an illustrator by profession and runs her own business where she designs and illustrates characters for clients, including for graphic novels. She regularly posts her designs and illustrations on her social media profiles.
She taught herself these skills and later completed courses at Skills Academy SA, Upskillist and Udemy to broaden her knowledge and refine her skills.
Matric, studies and a first novel
Jo-Ann is currently completing her adult matric to obtain the Modified Senior Certificate. She regularly shares stories about her studies on social media and is progressing well. She recently achieved 78% in one of her tasks for English First Additional Language.
Once she completes her Senior Certificate, she would like to study further in literature and history, two of her greatest interests, if circumstances allow, as studies can be expensive.
She is also writing her own short stories and working on her first novel, of which she has already written 50 000 words. One of her dreams is to have her stories published. Jo-Ann is motivated to work hard to make a success of her life and is looking forward to pursuing her passion for books further.
