How to check your SRD status

The official Sassa portal at srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status requires your ID number and the cell number used when applying. The Sassa WhatsApp line on 082 046 8553 walks applicants through the same check via a chatbot. The USSD code *120*69277# works on any handset without data.

What each status means

An “approved” status confirms payment for that month. “Pending” means Sassa is still completing income and database verification. “Declined” means at least one verification check failed. “Referred” usually points to a bank account holder check. “Reapplication required” means a fresh application is needed.
