Background on truck attacks in Gauteng

The N3 is a critical national freight corridor between Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal. Truck arson and hijacking attacks on the route and the surrounding industrial areas continue to disrupt logistics operators and drive up freight insurance costs. Industry bodies have repeatedly called for stronger policing on the corridor.
