Johannesburg’s WGRUV Dance Company will present a new production “Highlights: Tracing the Line” across three major venues from July to August 2026, bringing choreographic work from both international and local artists to South African audiences.
The production debuts at Roodepoort Theatre from 9 to 12 July, then moves to UJ Arts Centre from 20 to 23 August, before closing in Cape Town at the Homecoming Centre from 27 to 29 August 2026.
Choreography and Creative Team
“Highlights” features works by internationally acclaimed choreographer Jessica Lang alongside Jesse Obremski, Michael Trusnovec, and WGRUV’s own Holly Gruver and Lex Gruver. The programme explores line, colour, weight and meaning through contemporary and classical ballet.
Founded by Holly Gruver, WGRUV is Johannesburg’s contemporary ballet company dedicated to communicating hope through world-class artistic storytelling. The company is based in Bryanston and works with South African and international choreographers to produce work of depth, beauty and cultural significance.
