CAPE TOWN. – SuperSport broadcast rights for the Castle Double Malt Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour have been confirmed, with every match of the New Zealand tour of South Africa set to be screened live on DStv.

The agreement was concluded between CANAL+, the South African Rugby Union (SARU) and New Zealand Rugby (NZR).
What the SuperSport broadcast rights cover
South African rugby supporters will be able to watch all four Test matches between the Springboks and All Blacks live, as well as New Zealand’s four matches against South African Vodacom United Rugby Championship teams.
The historic tour begins on Friday evening when the DHL Stormers host the All Blacks in Cape Town. Kick-off is at 19:00.
First full New Zealand tour in 30 years
It marks the first full New Zealand rugby tour of South Africa in 30 years and forms part of the Castle Double Malt Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series.
SARU CEO Rian Oberholzer said there had been significant interest in the tour from rugby supporters in South Africa, New Zealand and internationally.
“This is a landmark event in the rugby calendar and having a landmark broadcaster in SuperSport to once again bring the passion and drama of the Tour to screens on the continent will be music to the ears of local fans,” Oberholzer said.
CANAL+ Africa and MultiChoice Group CEO David Mignot said securing the rights reflected the group’s continued investment in sport and locally relevant content.
“We are grateful to our partners, SARU and NZR, for making this partnership possible, and we look forward to an exceptional display of rugby between two of the best rugby nations in the world,” Mignot said.
New Zealand Rugby CEO Steve Lancaster said anticipation surrounding the tour continued to grow.
“This is one of the game’s most exciting events and we’re looking forward to enabling fans to follow another memorable chapter in the rivalry between our two teams,” Lancaster said.
Coverage beyond the live matches
The SuperSport broadcast rights deal extends further than the live fixtures.
SuperSport said its coverage would extend beyond the matches, with behind-the-scenes access to both camps, analysis from former players and experts, and coverage of the major moments and talking points throughout the tour.
Updates will also be available through SuperSport’s digital platforms and SuperSport Blitz.
The Springboks and All Blacks rivalry dates back more than a century and remains one of international rugby’s most celebrated contests. The 2026 tour revives the traditional touring format, with the All Blacks playing South African franchise teams in addition to the Test series.
