Prevention and response initiatives include integrated service delivery programmes that bring together government departments, municipalities and civil society organisations to deliver social work support, psychosocial services, reporting mechanisms and educational awareness directly within communities. School-based and community outreach programmes have been expanded to empower children with knowledge of their rights.
How to report suspected abuse
The Department urges parents, caregivers, educators and community members to report any suspected case of abuse or exploitation. Professionals working with children are reminded of their legal duty to report such cases without delay.
