Burgemeeser Geordin Hill-Lewis het Cameron gelukgewens: “Congrats man. Proud!”
Denzil Bazley het duidelik die voorval met die voormalige minister van polisie onthou: “They didn’t ucceed in making you shuurrrrup. Congratulations.”
Cornel Moolman: “Bravo..Mr. Cameron they must fear your no-nonsense attitude.”
Rose Clark Rossouw: “Now is the time to ask for statistics that nobody has thought and in a different direction before they started the blame game between SAPS & DOJ then you will see where the real problems arise. Congratulations!”
Rosa Narcisse: “Awesome news Ian Cameron! Congratulations! You deserve this position. Thank you for standing up against crime! You especially stood your ground against autocrats such as the past Minister of Police! (you know who). Thank you for everything you’ve said & done for ALL communities. Blessings…”

One of the most significant honours of my career was to be elected as the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Police in Parliament yesterday.
I am a firm believer of closing the gap between people on the ground and the relevant authorities when it comes to fighting crime.
One of the major factors of this is to hold the said authorities accountable with proper oversight.
More than 85 people are killed in this beautiful country everyday and we can never accept this as the norm!
