MOSAMBIEK. – Die soektog na Rikus Kylander (18), wat op 18 Desember 2025 omstreeks 13:00 vermis geraak het terwyl hy in Ponta do Ouro gesnorkel het, is beëindig.
Clarise Kylander, Rikus se suster, het ‘n verklaring namens die familie uitgereik. Ná wekelange uitgebreide lug-, grond- en see-soektogte sê die familie alle moontlike pogings is aangewend om Rikus op te spoor. Hulle het dank uitgespreek vir al die ondersteuning wat hulle ontvang het en gaan nou tyd neem om saam te wees en as ‘n familie te rou.
Geen verdere besonderhede is in die verklaring bekend gemaak nie.

The formal search has now come to an end. Extensive aerial, ground, and sea searches were conducted, and everything that could be done has been done. The local community and volunteers in Mozambique will continue to remain watchful. The national park in KZN has also committed to remaining vigilant.
We are deeply grateful to every single person who has walked alongside us during this unimaginable time — the community, volunteers, private companies, non-profit organisations, friends, family, and even strangers. Your prayers, efforts, messages, and acts of kindness have meant more to us than words can ever express.
We kindly ask for your understanding and compassion as we take some time and space to grieve and be together as a family.
